Talk to Me

‘@Facebook-Borrowed’

Writing Prompt- ‘What Topics do you like to discuss?’

I’ve never met a girl who doesn’t like to talk. We may choose our topics wisely but we love to talk. As we mature, I find my friends and I love to reminisce. Remembering our childhood sins is a great topic – like the one above. As an island girl, those were staples in our homes – they tasted best when stolen. A spoonful or a handful here and there. The pot was the best- especially if some sort of meat or fish was inside. We would grab a piece and disappear just as quickly. If you know, you know!๐Ÿ˜‚

The truth is, problems are always going to be here. We don’t always want to spend our time delving into the deep issues of life. When we get together these days we prefer to talk about things that make us laugh. Life can be brutal; we often need a break from the planning and the pruning. We laugh about what was and what is. We are now able to laugh and talk about our blunders and missteps. Now it’s easier to talk about our misplaced expectations, false perceptions and be okay with it. Now I can laugh out loud at the silly me who thought life would go exactly as I had planned it out. I have learned to gossip about me and my own crap – and laugh at it and yours too. The hope is that whoever is listening may gain some wisdom from my journey. Amazingly after five decades – I finally have something to say that’s worth listening to! Come – talk to me.
