Recently I looked in my freezer and realized there were things hidden in it that I hadn’t seen in a while. Yet I kept buying even though I wasn’t sure what I already have. What insanity! Today I made a decision. I will not buy anymore frozen items until I used up everything in my freezer. Ever so often we end up wasting resources because refuse to empty out the pantry, the closet and the freezer. The same is true about the ‘inner me’. There are times when an emptying out is needed.

This humidifier in my classroom will not function until the compartment filled with water is emptied. When ’empty’ starts flashing it stops doing what is was meant to do. I think many of us are like that. We look normal but find it difficult to fulfill our God-given purpose. On the outside we are well put together but some of the dysfunction we hug and curl up with, leaves us at less than our best. Who we were meant to be and all we were designed to accomplished now remains at a stand still.
We are bent over with loads and baggage that drains us daily. If we look a bit closer we see closed chapters, dead things, toxic emotions and lies that we need to do away with. Our soul is crying to be emptied, so we can soar beyond the heaviness of our current atmosphere. Emptied so we can be filled with what gives life.
