Real Talk

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.
‘The gift I didn’t know I needed’

About mid-day I decided to organize some of the worksheets in one of my cabinets for the 100th time. Ten minutes into the task, I stopped. There is nothing in me that’s wired for paper [clerical] work of this sort. Thankfully, God knows my shortcomings and gave me an amazing assistant this school year. Not just any assistant but one who LOVES organizing anything and everything. She took over. As I watched her passionately doing what I absolutely hate, I can’t imagine my school life without her. I want to take her home too! Those dreaded junk mail and old documents…yay!!

Although my classroom looks organized, behind the scenes somethings will never get done if it’s left up to me. Those pesky papers gives me the itch. One reason I avoid the K-12 world is the abundance of paper work that comes with it. Every year it’s on my to-do-list and when summer comes it’s still left undone. Truthfully, I function in that dysfunction – so let’s move on! Real talk!

Funny – this weekend I prepped and repainted a bath tub in my son’s bathroom all by myself. I actually enjoyed it and it looks real good. Real talk – I am who I am! Wonderfully created for purpose. It’s all by God’s design, so I will not complain or critique His creation. I believe He knows how to send help where we fall short. Let’s be okay with that. So, what’s on your list? Real talk…
