Ask me why we smile amidst pain and loss. How we laugh out loud while the tears are flowing. Ask me how we dance in the rain and sleep in the lion’s den. We are familiar with the fight. Struggle is part of what gives us defined mental and emotional fortitude. Ask me how I know. I’ve lived it – seen it.
Sisters have done it alone – even afraid. But did it anyway. Long nights, empty promises, and cold hearts. We’ve had to turn a deaf ear to naysayers. Silence the voices that don’t matter. Learn to walk again after a fall or two. Brothers have been lied to – deceived and manipulated. Yet I’ve seen them rise to love again, hope again, and believe again. Bent but not broken. Like the palm tree, they had comeback power. They’ve climbed mountains, faced giants of all sorts, battled with their own demons, and finally found their footing. They did when when no one thought they could. We’ve been blessed with a different kind of mettle.
So, ask me. The road may be long and hard. Obstacles beyond our wildest imagination may present themselves. We may look like ‘David’ in the eyes of ‘Goliath’ , but with God we push through. Call us giant slayers with a different kind of flavor. Ask me and I’ll tell you – We will rise again. Ask them – They will tell you. We never back down from a fight. Especially one that messes with our purpose and our destiny. This is a fight that matters. We do it for our children, our parents, our loved ones- our country.
‘The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.’ Psalm 145: 14 ESV
I love that scripture quote. Yes, He does!
