My Smile- My Hair

Daily writing prompt
What are your two favorite things to wear?

“If you’re reading this…Congratulations, you’re alive. If that’s not something to smile about, then I don’t know what is.” [Borrowed]

God, somehow, did not gift me with the ability to master styling hair. For that reason, I love my ponytails [bought]- they are convenient and easy to maintain. However, there is nothing I love more than my own ‘mane’. For a few years I have stopped putting chemicals in my hair – I now sport my own natural tresses. Letting my hair loose brings a certain feel of freedom that brings a smile to my face every time. Definitely, two of my favorite things to wear – my smile and my natural hair!

It is not lost on me how hair loss has been a huge challenge for many women of different ages. Types of alopecia, hair shaft abnormalities, and other types of shedding conditions have troubled women [and men] over the years. For some reason, it is often a private pain for many. Often we take it for granted that we have a healthy head of hair. Maybe today we’ll find one more thing to be thankful for. One more reason to smile- maybe just laugh out loud!

‘Laughter heals and it is free!’

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22 ESV)
