This is an interesting question. One that requires a personal conversation with oneself. Today I celebrated another year of God’s goodness. December 8th – the day I first saw light. Birthdays, especially as the decades roll by, are days we often reflect. Some of us sink into the deep abyss of regrets, some get drunk to forget, others just choose to be thankful. For others it’s a time of deep pondering and some serious soul searching.
If I’m to be honest – I don’t remember what I had pictured for 2025. I do however, take a little time to sit with me and unpack those things that can often clog my vision, creativity, and daily flow. Am I doing what I had hoped for 2025? For the most part- yes. Am I being the person I had hoped to be in 2025? This is the conversation we’re having now. The self checks, the recalibration, the honesty, and taking ownership – this is the conversation.
I’ve learned to not just ‘have a little talk with Jesus’, but to have little chat with the me I see in the mirror daily. Such conversations are ‘chicken soup’ for the soul.
Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part [of my heart] You will make me know wisdom. [Psalm 51:6 AMP]
Happy birthday, my sister! Within His care you are held, within His love you are seen!
