A year ago a small group of us from our high graduating class met for a weekend of fun. Some of us hadn’t seen each other in decades. The coming together was nothing short of fabulous. In a few short days we are going to do this again. This time the number has almost quadrupled and we will be all together lovely at the same resort in our island nation. Today we begin the count down to what we anticipate to be an unforgettable highlight of the summer. From all different countries and continents, we will most certainly bring the flair and spirit of our alma mater. This ‘blue and gold nation’ that brought us together as children will remain in our hearts forever. We still remember it’s motto: Perstare et Praestare ( persevere and excel). We appreciate all the seeds of courage, excellence, and grit that were planted in us back then. Much of who we are today started there. We salute that noble institution!

Waiting for the moment
Our eyes will meet again
When laughter and embrace
Meet in joyful unison
We will visit memory lane
Same story â different versions
Counting down the minutes
We will make it matter
Create new memories
Strengthen bonds
Renew connections
Add new lines to this chapter
Grateful that we found each other
On a serious note–I don’t take it for granted that we get to do this. We didn’t make it because we are good or better than those who we lost along the way. We’re here because God in His mercy planned it this way. We haven’t been perfect people; we all have our fair share of flaws and cracks in our person. With that awareness, gratitude is a garment I choose to wear. I am conscious of this one truth: ‘our stories could have been much different’. As I count down the days and the minutes, I am humbled and blessed to be able to share this journey with some beautiful people. See you in a minute –Indeed we are better together!
