You Came

“How frail is humanity! How short is life, how full of trouble! (Job 14:1) The best of us have had to walk through some tough seasons. It’s been a while since I lost someone dear to my heart. Truthfully there are moments when it hits you like a ton of bricks and breathing becomes difficult. Sitting alone in your thoughts can be difficult. When someone shows up to hold your hand, ease the burden or just be there – we never take it for granted.

‘Because of you, the journey was easier’

As I planned to fly home, I dreaded the journey. Then she showed up . Later, they showed up. You came. They came. Friends from our high school graduating class came to lighten the load. My namesake and I (Marcia) flew to and from together. When she called contemplating whether or not to come- I wanted to shout- ‘please come’! She was an answer to prayer. Thank you – MM! Later at the memorial service – the others came. I’ll not forget those who showed up [CP, BR and RB] during the week at different planned activities with the family. Those who sent their love via messages and phone calls. You came, you showed up – what a blessing! I also share this expression of gratitude on behalf of my sister JP who lost her mom- my 2nd mom. We are grateful and overwhelmed with joy that you came. We will never forget the love you all showed on so many levels.

‘Your love spoke loudly!’

We are destined to be together – in the happy moments and the ones that tear our hearts apart. Your presence spoke volumes about the kindness of your heart. We are reminded that we don’t need to do this alone. The roads we each must travel may not look the same. Sometimes the terrain may be rugged and arduous at best. Life often calls us to some demanding tasks. I am convinced that God knew about these days and in His wisdom and love – He gave us each other. Wherever you are and whatever your journey looks like – we’ll be there. Don’t go alone. Never forget – we’ll come!

‘Destined to be together’
