I don’t always feel productive. Feelings are funny, unreliable things. They can’t be trusted. Productivity for me can best be measured by the outcomes. However, I get what is being asked. I teach in Adult Education, and I find it just as fulfilling as teaching K-12. Some days when my students have that ah-ah moment – when something finally clicks, and the fog clears away. That moment right there makes my day every time. My labor was not in in vain. Those are some of my productive moments.
This past week we went over the Electoral College. A few of my students mentioned that this is the first time it made sense to them. My students are all immigrants who are learning English. I saw their eyes opened widely as if to say ‘ ah- ah now I get it’. A tiny moment in history, but meaningful and productive for us all.
***Don’t just fill a pail, light a fire- a common saying paraphrased. May you strive to maximize the moments you have been blessed with. Psalm 90: 12 reminds us: “So teach us to number our days, so that we might live wisely.”
Hey girlfriend. It’s been a while!
Idk what was wrong… I’ve been reading these posts but have not been able to comment on my cell. I just tried my desktop, and whallah!! SMH
How are you?
I feel most productive when:-
1) I get through most of what is on my ‘to-do’ list.
2) I teach a Sunday school class and somebody says ‘that really helped me’
3) I do something for somebody and I get a hug or smile out of it π
