This is the door to my classroom. All who enter, come into my space. One that I guard passionately. My students are always welcomed. At the beginning of the year I encouraged them to pursue gratitude, continue dreaming and respect others. This sets the tone for the spirit of my classroom. We don’t entertain complaining and anything that brings the spirit of confusion. Here’s the message to all those who enter this ‘happy place’:

I challenge us all today to create the atmosphere in your personal space that invites others to be motivated and inspired. Refuse to allow all that stifles creativity and steals dreams. Give others around you permission to breathe when life gets suffocating and unbearable. Be the voice that tells a different story. A narrative of possibility in a world where many are told they can’t. Stay in a place of peace and let that overflow to the tired and weary ones who may stop by to be refreshed. Never let them feel drained and hopeless. Pour of yourself – give of yourself. Be careful , however, to stay nourished yourself. You can’t give what you don’t have. In this world that is becoming increasingly gloomy , be the light bearer when darkness threatens your happy place.
