His Why

‘ Christ is not my security against the storms of life. He is my perfect security in the storms.’ [Borrowed]

‘Perfect Blend’

Darkness and light, colors that blend perfectly together. This is how I find life at times. A well crafted mix of joy and pain with equal comfort and distress. Storms rage but there is peace that comes with knowing who walks with me through the disturbances. A schoolmate of mine who resides in Australia shared this shot of the dawning of a new day. This is a true reflection of what our days can look like at times. A quiet calm sprinkled with moments darkness, light, bitter, sweet, and various shades of emotions. A day that can be a beautiful fusion of experiences even amidst the jumbled mess.

Christ came into a world that was an amalgamation of chaos, oppression, fear , hopelessness, and hypocritical religiosity. Many thought He came to be the political savior, but His why was different. He didn’t come to bring down human kingdoms, He came to invade the kingdom of our hearts. To make us open to His way. His teachings don’t always make sense and often go against the tide of popular opinion. He doesn’t always clear away the darkened skies or calm the storms. He however promises to be there. During this Lenten season, may we remember that Christ doesn’t always fix things to make us comfortable but He brings comfort in distress. Stay in faith.
