That Ache

I wrote this piece below about 8 years ago. Not sure who or what this was about. It may have been about me or someone else. Today as I reflect on someone I recently had a conversation with, I sense the same ache. The same searching, the same longing and the same emptiness.

Have you noticed that this emptiness has become more amplified in the last few years. Many people have so much more, but still empty and aching. Have you found what’s missing for you? Do you sense this emptiness in your children? In your loved ones? In your coworker or neighbor?

I found my missing piece when I made peace with God. I finally found out why I was here. Things began to make sense.

“You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
    They cannot be numbered!”
[Psalm139:16-17]

**Thanks for reading. I pray your thirst gets quenched. ‘Like’ and comment.

  1. It’s a wonderful thing when we realize His purpose for us, how He calls out to us and finds us, and loves to welcome us home to Him. The song “Fully Known” by Tauren Wells sums it up perfectly. We are fully known, and loved by God!

  2. Don’t you just love it how you write something and revisit it years later only to find yourself that you learned so much from that time to where you are now. It is truly a blessing.
