As we approach the end of a week and nearing the end of this month, I sense a need to just ‘pour oil’ on some wounds today. Within the past few weeks, I have gotten so much troubling news. So many unexpected departures – many were young adults. Just at the cusp of adult life as we see it. Now they are no more. Today many are hurting. Many are disheartened as life has dealt some blows. Though we offer support in tangible ways and we pray – everyone has to singly walk through their own web of agonizing emotions. In the end, life calls us to get up and keep going. So, I salute those today who have chosen to ‘keep going’, even if you are walking with a ‘limp’.

For You:
So today, I pray that peace would saturate your heart and mind. May your crooked path be made straight – your feeble knees be strengthened. I ask that your spirit be renewed today amidst the pain that’s seeping through your heart right now. Even as you feel the ‘wind’ knocked out of you, may you find moments when you can BREATHE.
The house seems quiet, that place at the table is empty, a laughter silenced – a voice has been taken. You toss and turn; sleep evades you. That spot on the bed is now cold – you can’t even allow yourself to sit in that chair. As you find it difficult to walk through this, may you find the strength to just begin by standing. Stand in the hope that tomorrow the sun will shine again. Know that in your loneliness, you are never alone – even if you feel abandoned or forsaken.
The bitter taste of betrayal , disappointment, or rejection may have left you with more questions than answers. Be encouraged that you will rise from the ash of that broken dream. Be reminded that not everything or everyone that leaves is a loss. Though now your vision may be temporarily distorted, I pray you ‘ll soon see what God sees. You will see the blessing that came from that brokenness or that perceived loss.
You don’t have to be stronger than you are. There is a thing as divine enablement. That which causes you to do what couldn’t do on your own. I speak restoration over your life. That your moment of breakthrough will come. That cloud that hangs over you will dissipate and you will sense a new lease on life. Whatever you do- don’t check out. Keep going; strength will find you. When you least expect it – hope, peace, joy, love will find you.
‘From My Heart To Yours’
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. [ Isaiah 40:31]
