I love the atmosphere in my classroom. The sense of calm — a safe place. Here My students are allowed to feel and speak (or write). They are all immigrants with a passion to master the art of speaking, reading and writing English fluently. A challenging road for many. They feel. Emotions and thoughts bathe their person in deep ways: fear, loneliness, loss, expectancy, disappointment, relief, homesickness, doubt, hopelessness, despair, and happiness. Their reality can change from one minute to the next. They feel, they speak and they have my permission every day. Not so long ago I introduced them to poetry as a way of expressing their feelings. Here are a few simple pieces:

May you give yourself permission to feel today. It’s okay. It is okay to not be okay too. There’s a reason God created us with healthy means of release. We were never meant to bottle it all up. Feel and allow His love to do the healing work. Our heavenly Father knows best how to turn ashes and the broken pieces into art. As works in progress, I’m guessing His intent is to create masterpieces. Give Him space to finish what He has started.
***Thanks for stopping by. It’s okay to feel.

When the soul is free, when the heart is in a safe place, they feel… the love! Wonderful to hear they feel, you have their heart, in mind! Lovely poems!
