Note to That Girl

‘You don’t journey alone’

Dear Younger Me

Baby girl
Don’t pray away the processing
Embrace the refiner’s fire
Stay on the Potter’s wheel
It is a temporary pain
Dance in the rain
Let the drops bathe over your soul
Light a candle
rather than curse the dark
Develop a taste for both bitter and sweet
Appreciate the prickly things
They too have streaks of beauty
Rise to the occasion
Challenge your fears
Jump and take a chance
Love when it doesn’t make sense
Hope when they say you shouldn’t
Trust the process
Believe the Potter
Hold fast to His unchanging hands

I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. [Isaiah 46:4]
