She Knew

‘Memorial Service’

We met her as young girls – now grown ladies when she left. Those who crossed her path met faith in motion. Where words fell short, her music spoke. Many saw her live, leaving footprints that led others to believe. With grace she taught us not just how to live, but how to die.

Though the body perished, her spirit left deposits in those she loved and served. Gone but not forgotten. And so we said ‘until then’ – not goodbye. The hope of those who believe gives a different feel to the journey of separation. Indeed ‘we do not mourn as those without hope’ [1 Thessalonians 4:13]. She transitioned in peace because she knew. She knew Her God.

  1. Sis Juanita surely taught me how to face death with an excitement I’ve never witnessed before. Rest in Peace dear Juanita until we meet again.
