Life’s Lessons

We often hear, ‘be careful what you wish for- you just might get it!’ To be purified and refined requires walking through some stuff. Most of us yearn to be a ‘better me’ – we desire growth and maturity. God’s way to get us there isn’t always easy. While we may prefer a cruise ship, we are best processed in a battleship.

Welcome to the journey of life. You are not alone. ‘There’s another in the fire standing next me’ – these lyrics bring comfort when we are tempted to flee the potter’s wheel. Embrace the process!

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me…I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead….[Phil 3:12-13]

  1. Walking through our furnaces of life makes us stronger. Each one we come through our faith in God becomes stronger, we realize he never left us. His promises are true, I will never leave or forsake you.

  2. Love this. I’m taking some time to myself to meditate a little bit since I have some downtime waiting for the garage door repairmen to finish. I always hope to be better, but sometimes life is so busy that I don’t take time to myself to really think about what I need to do to be better. This is a great reminder, thank you for sharing.
