On a Wing and a Prayer

No one prepared us. Like ocean waves they come crashing. Changing the landscape of our world. Life will never be the same. Life now comes with a different view. Hopes and dreams shifts – priorities change. We trade in the two door for a four door. God entrusted us with precious cargo. We pray we don’t sink the ship. With no manual, truthfully – we wing it at times. We pray we land successfully – even on broken wings. Faith and hope becomes our cornerstone as we watch gray hairs slowly pop up all over our heads. At times the scream in our hearts and mind is so loud, we dare not utter a word. Occasionally we wonder, if they came from our loins. We question their sanity and ours. There are those days we want to ‘return to sender’. In a few hours, we can experience a million wild emotions. Then there are the days when we wonder what we would do or who we would be without them.

If you’ve survived and thrived. Learnt a thing or two. Discovered much about yourself on this journey as a mama – I salute you. Happy Mother’s Day!
