I’ve learned the art of saying no – no to them and no to me. I am free to do nothing and go nowhere, if I so choose. Guilt is no longer my bedpartner when I choose me. There are no apologies for not wanting to. Where ever I show up, I am there 100%. The brevity of life becomes increasingly real as the years roll by. So I choose joy. I am free to feel, to cry , to mourn – then to move on. I am free to enjoy things for a season and wise enough to know what will be for a lifetime. I have been gifted with the freedom to embrace that which breathes life and reject that which will entomb me. I choose life.
‘I am now giving you the choice between life and death, between God’s blessing and God’s curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life.’ [Deuteronomy 30:19 GNT]
Free indeed, thank God, His love gives our soul freedom… to be!
