I’m Free

Daily writing prompt
How do you practice self-care?

I’ve learned the art of saying no – no to them and no to me. I am free to do nothing and go nowhere, if I so choose. Guilt is no longer my bedpartner when I choose me. There are no apologies for not wanting to. Where ever I show up, I am there 100%. The brevity of life becomes increasingly real as the years roll by. So I choose joy. I am free to feel, to cry , to mourn – then to move on. I am free to enjoy things for a season and wise enough to know what will be for a lifetime. I have been gifted with the freedom to embrace that which breathes life and reject that which will entomb me. I choose life.
