My need to be ‘right’. Truthfully I’d rather be happy and at peace than to parade the fact that ‘I am right’. Being right is highly over rated . While I don’t think we should ignore or deny our personal values or convictions, there are such things as futile arguments. Those that accomplish nothing, drain your energy, cause emotional and spiritual disturbance. There are many empty homes, bruised hearts, fractured friendships, and bitter souls floating around just because someone needed to be right.

After more than five decades on earth, life has taught me a few lessons. I discovered something about ‘truth’. Though it may be crushed and buried, it rises again. Often there’s no need to defend it – it has a way of revealing itself in its own time. So I choose peace over the fight any day. Especially when the fight has nothing to do with my purpose or my destiny. Allow wisdom to guide as you choose your battles prudently. Let’s not allow our bruised ego and misled pride to splinter the connections that truly matter on our brief tour of duty here on earth. Somethings are just not worth it!
‘Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!’ [Romans 12:16 NLT]
The Bible always has the perfect saying for. everything, right?
