I have always had a struggle identifying heroes in my life. Even as a child, when asked to write an essay about that topic, I found it difficult. One day I realized that the people I admired the most, were the ordinary everyday men and women who showed up for life daily despite the hurdles they face. I wanted to be like that…

I aspire to show up and be present when life calls. I choose to speak life – encourage the down-trodden. I make it a habit of listening so my ‘neighbor’ can unburden his soul. As an educator, I aim to ‘light a fire’ in the hearts of my students. I give love to my family , friends and foes. I desire to change the world in my little part of the vineyard by being present. Of course, I don’t get it right all the time. Some days – I just can’t!😒 You get that, right? I don’t and can’t do this by myself. I need you – we, us, them. One day at a time, one person at a time.
