Same Steps

‘Same College- Same Steps’

Legacy is an amazing thing! I went back to college a second time when my son was a baby. That’s me at my graduation, twenty-something years old and my son – 3 years old. In 2015, my son graduated from the same college. Here we are – I am sitting on the same steps both times. I towered over him then, now he towers over me.

Isn’t life amazing! Just wanted to share this ‘feel-good’ story. It puts a smile on my face every time. Is this what we call a destiny moment? I encourage you to reflect on some of your ‘destiny moments’ – smile, be grateful, be thankful.

Life can throw us unexpected curves sometimes. There are some bitter days and some sweet. We need to visit our ‘memorial closets’ ever so often – lest we forget! Lest we plunge into those dark places of hopelessness and despair. Call to mind life’s special moments and encourage yourself – sometimes only you can get you out of the funk!

  1. Thanks for sharing your story. You are absolutely correct when you said, ” sometimes only you can get you out of the funk!” Goes right along with what Paul said,” sometimes you have to encourage yourself.”

Have a bless day today. 🙏

  2. The photos in the same places, different times. Some of my children went to college and graduated, I am proud. They said they were influenced that they could do it if I could. They were in school when I went to college, and we did our homework together at the kitchen table, all of us. Thanks for sharing. A Happy moment.
