I am sure like me, your heart has gone through some ‘surgeries’. You’ve gone through a thing or two – learned some valuable lessons along the way. Somewhere, we learned the art of guarding our hearts. As we got wiser we realized that putting a filter over our heart was important. Proverbs warns us to ‘guard’ our hearts’ – watch what and who we allow to take residence there. Why? What’s in our hearts helps to determine the course of our lives.
I learned these truths 5 years ago as I tried to maneuver a challenging season in my life. Ever so often I had to go back and remind myself of these truths as my heart and mind struggled with worrisome thoughts. Man, with all his discoveries, great accolades and achievements have never found a way to fix the twisted, broken and scarred heart of another human. Only God can. When fear consumes me and the noise of man’s opinion drowns out that ‘still small voice’ – I come back to the truths imprinted on my heart. Left there by the One who always holds my heart. I leave a piece of my heart with you today:

About 5 years ago I was getting ready to start my teaching career in Florida, a dear lady who is Luke a 2nd mother gave me a talk from Isaiah 51, fear no man, we are all like grass, we are all mortals, in essence, fear only God. Let us give our hearts, souls and mind to the one who knows us best.

So very true, guard our heart and thoughts. With Covid and present political hatred, my husband would get all upset. I would keep reminding him “God is in Control”. I even threatened to put it above every doorway and mirror in the house. When fear comes, we need to think God is in Control. Thank you for sharing and keeping us focused on the True Solution.
