Bloganuary 2023 – # 10 ‘Has a book changed your life?’
My answer to this writing prompt is – ‘absolutely!’ I love to read. Admittedly, I was more of an avid reader when I was younger. I’ve always joked that college stole my joy of reading, especially grad school. Reading became a chore that was burdensome. After graduation, it took me a while to recapture that passion I once had. That being said, I’ve read a lot of books. Many have touched me deeply and opened up to me a beautiful and often a painful world. Of all the books I’ve read, none has had an impact on my life like the Bible.
For many it’s a book of rules and stories that seem to be irrelevant to our present reality. I have found it speaks to all that I am. I see my past, future and present on the pages of this life-giving book. I share a version of this piece written sometime ago – It echoes how I felt then and how I feel now.

*** Thanks for reading – It is called ‘The Word of Life’- Try reading some time.
Yes university did that to me too. It’s been years and I still can’t read anything that takes more than a couple of hours to read.

College has a way of hampering the joy of reading. The Bible is a great compass. I love the pieces you write and have some saved. Thank you for sharing.
