Choose Well

Something I read today hit me in a real place. Primarily because I have had my fair share of poor choices and have had to deal with the consequences. The writer commented,” Real freedom isn’t about having the liberty to gratify your every appetite; it’s about refusing to become a slave to unhealthy desires” [The Word for You Today]. As we open our eyes to a new day, many of us struggle in the decision-making process. If we are honest, some of us will admit that we suck in this area. Thankfully, we have help. There are those around us who ‘have our backs’ and often offer words of wisdom. At times, past experiences become our teacher and guide. Many of us rely on an inner compass and prayer. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial [1 Corinthians 10:23]. This scripture has been my ‘north star’ a time or two. It has always helped to point me in the right direction. I leave it with you today. As you ponder that thing that has been swirling around your head — choose wisely, choose well.

‘I Look to You’

***Thanks for reading – May you be clothed in wisdom today to choose well.
