I Found Out

The more I focus on me – my chaos, my needs, my pain and struggles- the less I see the God who is the solution to life’s discord. I was reminded today that God is not being vain or egocentric when He asks us lift our voices in worship to Him – to make it less about us and more about Him. It’s in shifting our focus to Him that we learn to magnify the Problem Solver rather than the problem. Our limited vision and understanding will frequently tempt us to question God. In spite of our flawed perception of God the Father, He does have a perfect track record of faithfulness even when we are unfaithful.

‘Creation reminds us of Your faithfulness’

Does peace evade you today? Give this a try – ‘ Eyes off the circumstances. Eyes on the only One who can calm the storm.’

Dear Lord:

I’ve tossed and turned a lot these last few nights. My questions these days seem to be more than the answers. A sense of weariness pervades my being as I’m tempted to ask you ‘why’. Tears have become my constant companion as they flow easily. These days You seem so silent and I am drifting slowly into a sea of hopelessness. If you don’t rescue me, I feel like I’ll go under. Waves of tiredness and despair are aiming to drown me. I’m reminded that Your strength is perfect where mine fails. I need You today like a dry parched land needs water. My soul thirsts for you. May the peace You give anchor me today. That the noise of my circumstances may not drown out the truth of Your promises. For You have said ‘You will perfect all that concerns me’. So my troubled, restless soul chooses to wait on You with expectancy. As you hold me in the palm of Your hands, thank You for not letting me go.
