Another Day in Waiting

This is sunset in my native country. The day is drawing to an end. Sometimes when things approach their end, we can relax, reflect, and enjoy all that was accomplished. Other times the end brings a lingering sense of disenchantment and disappointment. As the year slows to an end, many are restless with dreams or desires that have been left unfulfilled. There are unmet expectations and we struggle with delays. I have learned that delays serve a purpose and is often very much in line with God’s plan. I’ll share something I read this morning:

” God can do things immediately, but He’s working on a larger agenda. The delays that come in [our] lives do not destroy God’s purpose. They fulfill God’s purpose in [our] lives. [Devotional-‘God’s Purpose in Your Life’]

Delays are part of the process that refines us. Handle it with grace. Oftentimes while we think we are waiting on God, He’s waiting on us for an attitude adjustment. Choose to wait with an attitude of gratitude and expectation.

“Our faith may fail, His never wanes— That’s who He is, He cannot change! [2 Timothy 2:13 ISV]
