The first hour of my day finds me in conversation with the One who holds me the closest. The One who makes beauty from the ashes of my broken pieces. The only One whose love will never leave me empty and lacking. The One who can break and heal all at once. This where I quiet my heart. Where I empty myself of the fears that sometimes chase me to place where I am silenced. The minutes when I silence the loud voices that want to control the narrative of my day.

There’s a Book that contains letters of love, hope and reconciliation. It’s filled with truths that transcends generations. It’s pages tell a love story – one in which I am valued, redeemed, and rescued. I feed on the words that become a balm for the wounded parts of me. As the sun peaks through the darkened skies and nature sings His praises, I am reminded that there’s One that knows the steps I need to take. He beckons me to walk with Him today. These moments set the tone for ‘what lies ahead’. So confidently I rise, to do this day with Him.
‘Remind me each morning of your constant love, for I put my trust in you. My prayers go up to you; show me the way I should go.’ [Psalm 143:8 GNT]
Sometimes more and sometimes less than an hour, but I can testify to the significance of starting my day with God, who orders my steps, gives me his peace and upholds me with his Spirit! Blessings! – Jibbo
