And So I Danced

Today while sitting in traffic I heard one of my favorite ‘jams’. I sang and danced enjoying the moment. There was nothing I could do about ‘what lies ahead’. Glancing in my sideview mirror, I noticed the line of vehicles behind me. I could have been way back there, but I wasn’t. I was content being right where I was and so I danced.

We have this remarkable ability to lose sight of the present, either burdened with the future or consumed with the past. Truthfully, we have limited or no control over both. We worry so much about what’s ahead that, too often, we miss the moments right here – right now. We miss the song; we miss the dance. The opportunities to make melody, to laugh, to connect. To love and be loved. To do more than always looking for the next…

The rearview and sideview mirrors are important, but we can’t journey ahead successfully if that’s where we continually focus. What lies behind serves it’s purpose, however we don’t live there. We learn to celebrate the milestones, grateful for the strides we’ve made and the lessons learned – but the show must go on. So we embrace the now that’s what we have.

Seize the moment. Like the wind, it slips through our fingers so quickly. It never returns and sadly, sometimes even the do overs can still leave us with regrets. Today, this moment, is a gift we were privileged to unwrap. Many would have gladly traded places with us just to have one more moment in time. So crank up the volume on life. Dance like no one’s watching!

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

  1. Indeed, we have to seize the moment(s), let our heart dance, through an untainted perspective! I drive for a living, that’s the views I see, on a daily basis. So, I kick off my shoes, turn on the tunes. To let my heart cruise, and my soul groove! Nice share!

I love this! We’ll also be testifying of God’s goodness because many may ask the question ‘what do we have to be happy about amidst all the chaos?’

  4. Enjoy the moment and dance. So true, we cannot change the past, it’s gone, history, grab the lessons and move on. We cannot control what lies ahead, do t worry about what May never happen, so let’s dance for now❤️❤️
