Can’t Do Both

This a quick mid-week shout-out to a special group of people. This morning, in my conversation with God, I told Him that I couldn’t have two particular situations happening in my life at the same time. I couldn’t walk through both simultaneously. The truth is – I DIDN’T want to do both. The reality is , if I had to I could. We love to ‘instruct’ God, don’t we? We are good at letting Him know our limitations as if He needed to be informed.

Here’s the crux of the matter – we are so much more than we think. We have so much more inner strength and fortitude than we dare imagine. Both innately and even more so with God’s help. So this post is an ‘ode’ to you amazing readers who have been ‘doing both’ for a minute. Even in the midst of tiredness, weariness and frustration.

‘ You Do Both Well’

Going back to school and parenting small children, caring for ailing or aging loved ones while being overwhelmed on the job, struggling in your marriage and dealing with your personal health challenges. Rebuilding your finances and fighting an addiction, parenting a wayward child and starting a new relationship. The list goes on. You’ve been doing both for a season- sometimes making it look like a walk in the park. I salute you. You rock! You’ve got miles in the tank. Don’t you dare hang up those gloves or take off those sneakers- keep fighting and keep running. You are indeed an inspiration!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

***Thanks for reading. Hats off to all you who stay in the mundane – the everyday- and make it work !

  1. Sometimes I forget the “fights” I have won and the strength we really have by focusing only on the problem of today. I have been a single parent, working a job and going to college. Thank you for sharing.

  3. Good morning to my Encourager . You seem to be listening to my conversation with My Heavenly Father. I am guilty of trying to instruct THE OMNISCIENT ONE can you imagine?
I love this “we are so much more than we think ” πŸ€” Just recently I was assigned to do something but didn’t. I was complaining to God that I did not do it because I was so tired and worn. The Lord’s answer to me was, whatever I give you to do; the strength you’re using to do it, it’s mine and not yours. Need I say more: we have more in us than we can ever imagine. We have GOD’S STRENGTH to do His bidding. Thanks 😊 for your encouragement. God Bless you πŸ™ ❀️ πŸ™Œ
