This past Friday as I left work, I felt the desire to call someone to encourage them. As I whispered to God asking Him who might benefit from a conversation with me, a college friend of mine came to mind. I called her. We chatted briefly then I told her why I called. I shared an experience I had recently and what I walked away with. She was silent as she listened. After I shared, she asked me to tell her again why I called. I repeated myself. My friend commented that what I shared was exactly what she needed to hear. She proceeded to give me a glimpse into her current season. This was a divine appointment —a moment that was meant to be.

It is not uncommon for us to become ‘ingrown’ especially when days are tough. I’ve discovered that looking outside of me at those times can lead to some meaningful moments in life. There’s something we have that someone may need at their lowest point. Our experiences are not only about us or for us. We are blessed to be a blessing, taught so we can teach, shown kindness and mercy so we can pay it forward. Life becomes more worthwhile and purposeful when we take a minute to pour into another weary traveler. While looking up is always important—looking out gives added purpose and flavor to life. On this dusty road, don’t pass that one by. That one who may need a little of you today.
“While looking up is always important—looking out gives added purpose and flavor to life.” So true! 💕 Giving out has a way of bringing God’s love closer in.

Yes, he uses us from time to time to touch others who need to be touched.
